THE PROJECT IS CO-FINANCED BY THE EUROPEAN UNION
In 2024, the European Cohesion Policy Fund supports the implementation and marketing activities of the Pärnu Light Theatre Festival “ÖÖvalgel” with 74,351.77 euros.
The Light Theatre Festival ÖÖvalgel, which takes place every last weekend of September, is the largest cultural event in Pärnu, featuring light performances in various locations throughout the city for three nights in a row. It is a light theatre festival where stories are told through light designs and solutions, with a living person always as the main character. There is no similar light theatre festival in the nearby region.
The goal of the Pärnu Light Theatre Festival ÖÖvalgel is to reduce the seasonality of tourism in Pärnu, stimulate entrepreneurship, promote collaboration between tourism professionals and creative individuals, and thereby market Estonia and Pärnu as a tourist destination.
